BARistaBARBAR's BASIC BARISTA COURSE is aimed at those wanting to acquire the skills to work as a Barista. Our Barista School & London Coffee Lab at our mircoroastery is unique in the UK offering the only place where you will be trained on manual, semi automatic and also lever coffee machines. Our lab has newly acquired a lever machine for training. We are dedicated to producing the highest quality professional baristas. This is unique to Baristabarbar. Whether you intend to work as a barista, or are planning to run a cafe or coffee cart (or just are passionate about coffee), this is the course for you. 

The  BASIC BARISTA COURSE shows participants how to make the full range of Italian style coffees on a commercial  coffee machine. Barista skills are essential to creating full bodied coffees with balanced flavours in the cup.

The course covers-

•Coffee Roasting and blend selection
•Learning to operate a coffee machine
•Maintenance and cleaning of coffee machine
•Setting the coffee grinder
•Perfecting espresso extraction times
• Tamping and packing coffee for shots
•Assessing the qualities of the coffee
•Milk steaming and how to make silky micro foam for the milk based coffees
•Making the coffees including espressos ,lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites etc
•General Barista skills
•It will give you the basic skills required to be a barista


Whether you are planning to open a cafe, work as a Barista or just passionate about learning about coffees, our Basic Barista Course will give you the skills you need.
The course can be completed with a Certificate of Participation for £79.95. This is recommended for those seeking to work as a barista or it can be completed  for £69.95 without the certificate of participation.This is not a point based course and therefore there are no exams. It is a certificate of participation to state completion of the course.

Each participant receives a pocket Barista Manual for professional baristas covering all the contents of the course.

ATTENDING THE COURSE-All courses are in person at our coffee Lab. However we also offer an opportunity for overseas students to join us remotely.
To make a reservation prior to attending the course either email or call.
You can either pay online prior to the course or card on day. We are card only. If you pay online before the course then keep a copy of payment to be presented on the day.
Please arrive 15 mins before the scheduled course start time for registration.

HIRING COFFEE MACHINE AFTER COMPLETION OF COURSE

ou complete the Barista Course we offer a discounted rate of £14.50 per hour for unsupervised use of the coffee machine (not including milk). Our Italian coffee machine can be hired either for further practice upon completion of course or for those needing practice for Barista Championships. Contact us for a booking
